Privacy Policy
The short version
- Fishburg has no account and no sign-up. We (the developer) run no server, and your game data is never sent to us.
- Your save game is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
- Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Google collects some device and usage data to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud. You decide whether ads may be personalized.
- Purchases and Game Center are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- The game works fully whatever you choose in any privacy prompt.
This policy covers the Fishburg game for iPhone and iPad, listed on the App Store as Fishburg: Aquarium, and this website.
1. Who we are
Fishburg is made by BEYDANUR DONMEZ (Beydanur Dönmez) ("we", "us"). We are responsible (the "data controller") for how the Fishburg app handles personal data. You can reach us at fishburg.sandbox@outlook.com.
Google and Apple provide some services inside the app (ads, purchases, Game Center). They handle the data they collect under their own privacy policies, which are linked below.
2. What stays on your device
Fishburg is an offline game. The following is stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad and is never sent to us:
- your tanks, fish, decorations, coins, gems, level, awards, daily tasks and calendar progress (your save game);
- your settings, such as language, sound, music and notifications;
- which purchases you have made (for example, Remove Ads or the Starter Pack), so the game can apply them.
We do not use our own analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools, and we have no copy of your save.
3. Ads by Google AdMob
Fishburg is free to play and is funded by ads from Google AdMob. You see rewarded ads only when you choose to watch one (for example, to revive a fish or double a free gift), and occasionally a full-screen ad when a level-up message closes. There are no banner ads. We have limited ads in Fishburg to Google's PG (parental guidance) content rating or below.
To show ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK in the app collects the following, according to Google's own disclosure:
| Data | Examples | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifiers | Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking; otherwise identifiers limited to this app or developer | Showing and measuring ads, frequency capping, analytics |
| Approximate location | Estimated from your IP address (city or region level, never GPS) | Showing ads suitable for your region, analytics |
| Advertising data | Which ads you have seen | Advertising and ad analytics |
| Product interaction | App launches, taps, ad video views | Improving ad performance, analytics |
| Diagnostics | Crash logs and performance data such as launch time or hang rate | Fixing and improving the ads SDK, analytics |
Google's consent tool (the User Messaging Platform) also uses your approximate location and basic device data to decide which privacy messages apply where you live, and it stores your choices on your device.
This data goes directly to Google, not to us. We only see anonymous, combined reports (for example, how many ads were shown). We only work with partners that protect user data at least as well as this policy describes. Google uses the data as described in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
4. Your privacy choices
Before any ad loads, Google's consent flow shows the privacy messages that apply to you:
- Consent form (EEA, UK and Switzerland). You can agree to or refuse personalized ads and the use of your device's storage and identifiers. The form has a "Do not consent" button. If you don't give consent, ads are not personalized: Google shows non-personalized or "limited" ads that don't use your past activity.
- Tracking permission. Google shows a short message explaining why we ask, and then Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks whether Fishburg may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, your advertising identifier (IDFA) is not shared.
You can change your choices at any time:
- Ad consent: in the game, Settings → Privacy options (shown wherever a consent choice applies).
- Tracking: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. More about tracking permission from Apple.
- Google ad personalization in general: My Ad Center.
Saying no never limits the game. You can still play everything and still choose to watch rewarded ads.
5. In-app purchases
Purchases (gem packs, the Starter Pack and Remove Ads) are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never receive your name, email, card or other payment details. Apple only tells the app that a purchase succeeded, with a transaction number, so the game can apply it on your device. Apple handles this data under the Apple Privacy Policy. Refunds are handled by Apple. See the Terms of Use for what each purchase includes.
6. Game Center
If you are signed in to Apple's Game Center, Fishburg sends your total XP to a leaderboard and reports achievements (one for each award tier you reach). Your Game Center nickname and score can be seen by other players on the leaderboard, according to your Game Center settings. Apple processes this data under Game Center & Privacy. We don't receive or store your Game Center data outside of what Apple shows on the leaderboard.
Game Center is optional and the game works fully without it. You can sign out at any time in iOS Settings → Game Center.
7. Notifications
Fishburg can remind you when a fish is hungry or has grown up. These are local notifications: they are scheduled on your device by the game itself. No push server is involved and nothing is sent to us. The game asks for permission at the end of the tutorial (and at most once more later), and you can turn reminders off in the game settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Fishburg.
8. Children and age rating
Fishburg is rated 9+ on the App Store and is not in the Kids category. It is a general-audience game, not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We collect no personal data ourselves. Ads are limited to Google's PG content rating, they are not personalized when consent is not given, and the tracking identifier is only used if the user allows it. If you are a parent and have a question, please contact us.
9. Keeping and deleting data
- Your save game stays on your device until you delete the app. Deleting Fishburg removes the save and your settings. A copy may remain in your own iCloud or computer backups until those backups are replaced.
- We keep nothing about you on any server, so there is nothing for us to delete. We keep emails you send us only as long as we need to answer them, and at most two years.
- Google keeps ad data for the periods described in How Google retains data. You can withdraw ad consent at any time (see Your privacy choices).
- Apple keeps purchase and Game Center data under its own policy.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. Because Fishburg sends nothing to us, most requests about ad data are best handled by Google directly, but we're happy to help: just email us.
Turkey (KVKK)
Under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, you can learn whether your data is processed, ask for information about it and its purpose, learn which third parties it is transferred to in Turkey or abroad, ask for correction or deletion, object to results based solely on automated processing, and claim compensation for unlawful processing. You can apply to us first and then complain to the Personal Data Protection Board. A Turkish version of this policy is available.
EEA and UK (GDPR)
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent (for example, for personalized ads), you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier use. Otherwise ads rely on our legitimate interest in funding a free game, limited to non-personalized ads, fraud prevention and security. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell personal information for money. Where the use of your advertising identifier for personalized ads counts as "sharing" under California law, you can opt out by choosing Ask App Not to Track and, where the game offers it, in Settings → Privacy options. You also have the right to know about and delete personal information, and you will not be treated differently for using your rights.
11. This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and loads nothing from other sites. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes (see the GitHub Privacy Statement). The Privacy Policy, Terms and Support links in the game open this website in Safari.
12. International transfers and security
Google, Apple and GitHub may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, using the safeguards described in their privacy policies. On your device, your save is protected by iOS app sandboxing and your device's security.
13. Changes to this policy
If our data practices change (for example, if we add a new ad partner), we will update this page and the effective date above. For significant changes we will also mention it in the app's update notes.
